The Year 2 homework pack was designed through consultation with a group of Year 2 teachers and parents of Year 2 childres. It encorporates aspects of the literacy and numeracy National Curiculum for Key Stage 1 (see bottom of page).



Checklist of activities



Week 1 - Going on a journey
Parents take their children on a short walk outside which is then used as the basis for a set of instructions.

Week 2 - Reading for fun!
Using leaflets that parents/children can find locally they read them together and record different facts.

Week 3 - Transport Maths
Children use a pre-made tally chart and graph to record information about outside their house.

Week 4 - Telling a friend
Children are given information to help them write a postcard about a journey they have made.

Week 5 - Take away time
Using leaflets from local take-aways and restaurants the children use the information to create their favorite menu.



Week 6 - Everybody's moving
Using pictures of different types of transport the children make a model of their favorite.

Week 7 - Interviews
The children use a member of their family/friend to interview them about a recent journey they have been on.
